Basketball Recap: Washingtonville Comes Up Short

Washingtonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Cornwall Central Dragons, falling 77-26. While losing is never fun, the Wizards can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 530th, while the Dragons are ranked 116th).

Washingtonville's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Cornwall Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

When Washingtonville and Cornwall Central next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Washingtonville will square off against Minisink Valley and their three-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Meanwhile, Cornwall Central will try to stop Beacon's three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
