Football Recap: Lehman Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Friday just wasn't the day for Lehman's offense. They were dealt an 87-0 loss at the hands of the Weiss Wolves on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 32 points in the game before, the Lobos' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Gunner Winiecki threw for 113 yards on 16 of 24 attempts. David Rivera was his top target, picking up 70 receiving yards. On the ground, Josiah Espinoza rushed for 26 yards.

Weiss found their leader in sophomore Jaxon Schad, who threw for 358 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes. Those seven passing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Schad. Another player making a difference was Jordan Ibn Anderson-El, who picked up 133 receiving yards and four TDs.

Lehman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Weiss, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Lehman will square off against College Station at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lobos will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.25 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Weiss, they will challenge Hendrickson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
