Soccer Game Preview: Capital vs. Lakes

Capital is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will face off against the Lakes Lancers at 7:00 p.m. Capital's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Capital is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against North Thurston on Thursday. The Cougars fell just short of the Rams by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Lakes kept a clean sheet against River Ridge on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Hawks. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lakes.

Capital's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10-1. As for Lakes, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 4-5-1.

Capital couldn't quite get it done against Lakes in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
