Baseball Game Preview: Grandview Greyhounds vs. Toppenish Wildcats

The Grandview Greyhounds will venture away from home to square off against the Toppenish Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Grandview has struggled recently with 12 defeats in a row, while Toppenish will arrive with three straight wins.

East Valley hit Grandview with a six-run sixth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Greyhounds came up short against the Red Devils, falling 16-1.

Grandview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Mendoza, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Toppenish narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Prosser 3-1.

Toppenish pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Grandview, their loss dropped their record down to 1-17.

Grandview might still be hurting after the 13-0 defeat they got from Toppenish in their previous matchup on Tuesday. Can the Greyhounds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
