Baseball Recap: Lake Nona Finds Home Field Redemption Against Innovation

There's no place like home for Lake Nona, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Innovation Bulls on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-6 back in March.

Lake Nona let Fabian Gavalo and Luke Ramsey run wild. Gavalo went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and five RBI, while Ramsey scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those five RBI gave Gavalo a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Leonardo Suarez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

With the win, Lake Nona broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 13-10. As for Innovation, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Lake Nona and Innovation will both be playing Lake Buena Vista the next time they take the field. The Lions will host the Vipers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bulls will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
