Baseball Game Preview: Creekview Mustangs vs. Reedy Lions

The Creekview Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Reedy Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Creekview hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Creekview's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Highland Park on Thursday.

Sam Perez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (one).

On the hitting side, Creekview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Landberg, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Reedy has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.42 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They came up short against Wakeland, falling 11-2.

Reedy's loss dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Creekview, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-12.

Creekview was able to grind out a solid victory over Reedy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
