Softball Recap: Long Beach Poly Find Success

Long Beach Poly's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Lakewood Lancers. The game snapped a strange streak: the last six times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Tegan Breaux made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Persjah Lam Sam and Alayna Veavealagi did most of the damage at the plate: Lam Sam went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Veavealagi went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Lam Sam has posted since back in April of 2025. Elizabeth Marquez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Long Beach Poly hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Long Beach Poly's record now sits at 9-3. As for Lakewood, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Coincidentally, Long Beach Poly and Lakewood will both be playing Millikan the next time they take the field. The Jackrabbits will host the Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Lancers will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
