Softball Game Preview: West Side Eagles vs. Viola Longhorns

The West Side Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Viola Longhorns at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (West Side has four straight victories, Viola has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Tuesday, West Side got the win against Rose Bud by a conclusive 15-5.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Viola's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-0 to Concord, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

West Side's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Viola, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

West Side was able to grind out a solid win over Viola when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 10-7. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Longhorns turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
