Basketball Recap: Immaculate Mustangs vs. Brookfield Bobcats
The Immaculate Mustangs were the 51-46 winner over the Brookfield Bobcats when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Immaculate fell to the Bobcats 69-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Shane Weber, who scored 46 points along with seven rebounds and five assists for Brookfield. That makes it 17 consecutive games in which Weber has scored at least a third of Brookfield's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Danny Ciriello, who scored 11 points along with three blocks.
Immaculate's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Brookfield, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.
Immaculate will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Bethel is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Brookfield, they will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Connecticut (Pomperaug is ranked 64th, while the Bobcats are ranked 58th).
