Soccer Game Preview: Mounds Park Academy vs. Liberty Classical Academy

The Mounds Park Academy Panthers will square off against Liberty Classical Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mounds Park Academy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Mounds Park Academy's offense. They came up short against Breck on Saturday, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Mounds Park Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota soccer rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Breck are ranked ninth).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Liberty Classical Academy). Their defense stepped up to hand Hmong Academy an 11-0 shutout on Monday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded Liberty Classical Academy with their most commanding win of the season.

Mounds Park Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-7-4. As for Liberty Classical Academy, the win got them back to even at 5-5-3.

Mounds Park Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Liberty Classical Academy in their previous meeting back in September of 2019, sneaking past 3-2.
