Soccer Recap: Marple Newtown Has No Trouble Against Penn Wood

Marple Newtown kept a clean sheet against Penn Wood on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 6-0 win. Marple Newtown were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on Penn Wood, so Marple Newtown were just returning the favor.

Marple Newtown hit Penn Wood with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Benk Gahler (2), Ben Edwards (2), Aran Trainor, and Colin Silberstein.

Marple Newtown now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Penn Wood, they now have a losing record of 0-1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marple Newtown will venture away from home to square off against East at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Penn Wood, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Avon Grove at 7:00 p.m. on September 2.
