Baseball Recap: Pryor Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Pryor had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over the Rejoice Christian Eagles.

Gavin Roberts was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sergio Banuelos, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pryor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive matches.

Pryor pushed their record up to 23-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Rejoice Christian, with the defeat, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-15.

Looking ahead, Pryor is taking a road trip to square off against Jenks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rejoice Christian, they will challenge Pawhuska at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
