Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Mustangs vs. Liberty Hill Panthers

The Jefferson Mustangs will square off against the Liberty Hill Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.4 points per game this season.

Jefferson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 48-33 win over Harlandale.

Jefferson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trey Perez, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards Perez has posted since back in February of 2024. Rafael Gonzalez was another key player, going 6-for-8 on his way to 12 points.

Meanwhile, Liberty Hill had already won 16 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points) and they went ahead and made it 17 on Tuesday. They walked away with a 41-33 victory over the Patriots.

Liberty Hill's win bumped their record up to 30-5. As for Jefferson, they pushed their record up to 22-12 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.
