Basketball Game Preview: Flower Mound Jaguars vs. Coppell Cowboys

Flower Mound hasn't had much luck against Coppell recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Flower Mound Jaguars will venture away from home to challenge the Coppell Cowboys at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Tuesday, Flower Mound ended up a good deal behind Marcus and lost 62-46. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 414th, while the Marauders are ranked 36th).

Meanwhile, Coppell played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Braswell and fell 64-36. The Cowboys were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-14.

This is the second loss in a row for Flower Mound and nudges their season record down to 11-16. As for Coppell, they dropped their record down to 12-16 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Flower Mound skirted past Coppell 50-47 when the teams last played on January 7th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Flower Mound since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
