Soccer Recap: Sumrall Wins Going Away Against Purvis

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Petal, Sumrall was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Purvis Tornadoes. The result was nothing new for Sumrall, who have now won four matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Purvis from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Boston Trussell led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Sumrall's win bumped their record up to 5-3-1. As for Purvis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sumrall will challenge Harrison Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Harrison Central will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Sumrall surely won't give up without a fight. As for Purvis, they will take on Lawrence County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Purvis will be up against Lawrence County's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.8 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
