Football Recap: Berrien Starts Season with Loss on the Road + How To Watch

Berrien had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 29-6 to the Cook Hornets on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Rebels in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost four in a row.

Cash Perkins threw for 73 yards and one TD. Jerrion Brown was his top target, picking up 38 receiving yards and one score.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Dawson Davis and Nigel Kenney. Davis rushed for 106 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries while Kenney rushed for 111 yards and a pair of scores on only 14 carries.

Berrien wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 47-21 win against Lanier County on the 21st. As for Cook, they have also already played their next game, a 22-6 victory against Bainbridge on the 22nd.
