Baseball Recap: Spencerville Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Spencerville's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lincolnview Lancers on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bearcats in their meetings with the Lancers: they've now lost four in a row.

Spencerville's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Lincolnview, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Coming up, Spencerville will be playing in front of their home fans against Kalida at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Bearcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lincolnview, they will head out to square off against New Bremen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lancers 2.2, the Cardinals 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
