Football Recap: Yarmouth Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Yarmouth can now relate to. They were dealt a 44-14 loss at the hands of the Mt. Ararat Eagles on Friday. The matchup marked the Clippers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Yarmouth lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jackson Jabar, who picked up 195 receiving yards and one touchdown. His receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 105 receiving yards. Ignatius (Iggy) McGrath was another key player, throwing for 279 yards and a pair of TDs.

Yarmouth's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2. As for Mt. Ararat, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Yarmouth does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mt. Ararat, they will venture away from home to face off against Spruce Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
