Soccer Recap: Corona del Mar Takes a Loss

Corona del Mar managed to keep up with Fountain Valley until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Corona del Mar Sea Kings might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Fountain Valley Barons an easy 4-1 victory. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sea Kings of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Corona del Mar's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Fountain Valley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-2.

Corona del Mar will be home for the holidays to greet Newport Harbor at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fountain Valley, they are taking a road trip to challenge Los Alamitos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fountain Valley is facing Los Alamitos at the right time seeing as Los Alamitos is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
