Football Recap: Hulbert Victorious

Hulbert hasn't had much luck at home recently (they'd lost four straight dating back to last season) but thanks in part to Cody Botts that streak is no more. The Riders snuck past the Westville Yellowjackets with a 30-24 win on Friday with plenty of help from Botts, who rushed for 184 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per carry, and also picked up 101 receiving yards and two scores. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 54 yards.

Hulbert's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Westville, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hulbert will take on Hartshorne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Westville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sperry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Yellowjackets' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
