Preview: Campbell-Savona Panthers vs. Canisteo-Greenwood Chargers
Campbell-Savona has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Canisteo-Greenwood Chargers at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Campbell-Savona will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 528th, while Canisteo-Greenwood is ranked 124th).
On Monday, Campbell-Savona was beaten by Addison 63-31. Campbell-Savona has not had much luck with Addison recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Campbell-Savona had strong showings from Chance Miller, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds, and Ethan Soles, who scored 12 points. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for him.
Meanwhile, Canisteo-Greenwood entered their tilt with Alfred-Almond with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Canisteo-Greenwood blew past Alfred-Almond, posting a 66-22 win at home. The result was nothing new for Canisteo-Greenwood, who have now won four contests by 28 points or more so far this season.
Campbell-Savona bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Canisteo-Greenwood, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Campbell-Savona was dealt a bruising 70-24 defeat at the hands of Canisteo-Greenwood in their previous matchup back in February. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Campbell-Savona was down 44-15.
