While Morro Bay's victory against Foothill wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pirates had just enough and edged out the Trojans 23-20. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won three in a row.

Sands Dougherty was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 213 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 146 yards and one TD while completing 76.5% of his passes. Those 213 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Luca Macari was another key player, rushing for 100 yards and one score.

The victory got Morro Bay back to even at 1-1.
