Baseball Game Preview: Chicago Mt. Carmel Caravan vs. Andrew Thunderbolts

The Chicago Mt. Carmel Caravan are taking a road trip to take on the Andrew Thunderbolts at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Chicago Mt. Carmel 3.2, Andrew 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Chicago Mt. Carmel's offense. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (6-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The match marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

Chicago Mt. Carmel got a good showing from Andrew McCormick, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

Meanwhile, Andrew put another one in the bag on Sunday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over Bishop McNamara. The result was nothing new for the Thunderbolts, who have now won four games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Chicago Mt. Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Andrew, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Chicago Mt. Carmel couldn't quite get it done against Andrew when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Can Chicago Mt. Carmel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
