Recap: Schaeffer Academy Lions vs. Rushford-Peterson Trojans
The Schaeffer Academy Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a hard 51-32 fall against Rushford-Peterson. Schaeffer Academy has struggled against Rushford-Peterson recently, as their game on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lillian Morrisey, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Morrisey is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Winona Morgan, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds.
Schaeffer Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Schaeffer Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Rushford-Peterson, they pushed their record up to 18-8 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road.
Schaeffer Academy will square off against Houston at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Schaeffer Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Friday. As for Rushford-Peterson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Caledonia at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
