Basketball Recap: St. Thomas Episcopal Saints vs. St. John's Mavericks

St. Thomas Episcopal lost against St. John back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Saints took a 78-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mavericks. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. John's to victory, but perhaps none more so than Teo Nelson, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 17 rebounds. What's more, Nelson posted two assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Callahan, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards.

St. Thomas Episcopal's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for St. John's, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

St. Thomas Episcopal wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 75-59 win against Veritas Academy on the 22nd. As for St. John's, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 88-80 loss against Second Baptist on the 22nd.
