Volleyball Recap: Avon Park Wins Going Away Against Clewiston

Avon Park won the last time they faced Clewiston and things went their way on Thursday too. The Red Devils were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Tigers.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Avon Park was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-9, 25-12.

Courtney Roth Bomfim had an outrageously good game as she had 14 aces and 12 digs. Those 14 aces gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophia Heston, who had 13 kills and nine digs.

Avon Park is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Clewiston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Clewiston will face off against Berean Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Avon Park will be paying especially close attention to the Tigers' match: after the Tigers face off against East Lee County, they'll take on Avon Park again at 7:30 p.m. on the 30th.
