Soccer Game Preview: Northfield Mount Hermon vs. Hotchkiss School

The Northfield Mount Hermon Hoggers will square off against the Hotchkiss School Bearcats at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Northfield Mount Hermon fell victim to Loomis Chaffee School and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Pelicans, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Northfield Mount Hermon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 46th in Massachusetts, while Loomis Chaffee School are ranked fifth in Connecticut).

Meanwhile, Hotchkiss School also failed to score in their most recent game. They fell just short of Avon Old Farms by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. Hotchkiss School have struggled against Avon Old Farms recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Hotchkiss School's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2-1. As for Northfield Mount Hermon, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3-1.

Everything went Northfield Mount Hermon's way against Hotchkiss School in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Northfield Mount Hermon made off with a 5-1 win.
