Rolla came tearing into Saturday's game with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 50-45 W against the Parkway South Patriots. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Patriots are ranked 163rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rolla's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mariah Watkins led the charge by going 7-for-16 to rack up 20 points and three steals. Watkins has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Akaela Caquelin was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to six steals and five assists.

Rolla was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They are 24-1 when they've passed the ball that well.

Rolla's win bumped their record up to 24-4. As for Parkway South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-10.

Coming up, Rolla will square off against Marquette at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkway South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
