Basketball Game Preview: Vermillion Tanagers vs. Lennox Orioles

Vermillion and Lennox are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Vermillion Tanagers will welcome the Lennox Orioles at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Vermillion is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

Last Tuesday, Vermillion got the win against Madison by a conclusive 72-46. The Tanagers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Lennox is ranked highly in their home state and on Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Western Christian. Lennox took a 63-47 bruising from Western Christian. The Orioles' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Lennox's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Vermillion, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Vermillion didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Lennox when the teams last played back in March of 2024, but they still walked away with a 56-52 victory. Will Vermillion repeat their success, or does Lennox have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
