Baseball Game Preview: Copper Hills Grizzlies vs. Fremont Silverwolves

The Copper Hills Grizzlies will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Fremont Silverwolves at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Copper Hills is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Monday just wasn't the day for Copper Hills' offense. They came up short against Westlake on Monday, falling 8-0.

Copper Hills got a good showing from Romeo Duron, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Duron has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Copper Hills saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kooper Beebe, who went 2-for-3 with one double. The dominant performance gave Beebe a new career-high in hits.

Meanwhile, Fremont won against Northridge on Monday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Fremont didn't even let Bonneville on the board, marking Fremont's second-straight 10-0 shutout. With that win, the Silverwolves brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Adam Mikesell was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. He also put up two RBI, which were his first of the season. Kasen Pearson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Fremont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bonneville only posted a batting average of .118.

Copper Hills' loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Fremont, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
