Volleyball Recap: Western Reserve Academy Pioneers vs. Nordonia Knights
Western Reserve Academy came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Nordonia Knights, falling 3-0. The Pioneers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 2-0.
Western Reserve Academy was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Nordonia work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 28-26, 25-21.
Nordonia was led to victory by Zac Fernandez and Cameron Anquillare. Fernandez had five digs and three blocks, while Anquillare had 12 digs and one assist. Fernandez is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 46 games he's played dating back to last season.
Western Reserve Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Nordonia, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6.
