Softball Recap: Plainview Comes Up Short

After flying high against Elizabeth on Thursday, Plainview came back down to earth. The Hornets came up short against the Marksville Tigers on Friday, falling 16-1. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2018.

Plainview's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Marksville, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Coming up, Plainview will look to defend their home field on Monday against Pickering at 4:00 p.m. As for Marksville, they will venture away from home to challenge Avoyelles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
