Basketball Recap: Chase Takes a Loss

Chase was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 41st straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Western Plains Bobcats, falling 68-23. The Kats lost against the Bobcats in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 47-37 score last time.

Western Plains' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Madelyn Kraus, who went 8-for-17 en route to 21 points along with seven assists and six boards. The dominant performance gave Kraus a new career-high in assists. Kalihan Flax was another key player, going 9-for-19 to rack up 22 points.

Chase's defeat dropped their record down to 0-20. As for Western Plains, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.

Looking ahead, Chase will take on Golden Plains at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Western Plains does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
