Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ashley). They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Croatan Cougars on Tuesday. With that win, Ashley brought their scoring average up to 2.6 goals per game.

Their offense was hitting Croatan from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Bodey Porter led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

The victory was the third in a row for Ashley, bringing their record up to 4-1-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. As for Croatan, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6-1.

Ashley didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 4-0 victory against Hillside on the 4th. As for Croatan, they have also already played their next game, an 8-1 defeat against Topsail on the 4th.
