Softball Recap: George Jenkins Eagles vs. Fort Meade Miners
George Jenkins won the last time they faced Fort Meade and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Eagles came out on top against the Miners by a score of 6-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Olivia Friel was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
Friel wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alaina Kennedy, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Riley Pate was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
George Jenkins' record is now 11-7. As for Fort Meade, they dropped their record down to 12-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Coming up, George Jenkins will venture away from home to take on Land O' Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gators have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
