Basketball Recap: Compass Charter Falls Despite Big Games from Grayson Skimmyhorn and Jayden Horn

Compass Charter lost against Victory Charter back in January of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Compass Charter Aviators fell 52-44 to the Victory Charter Vipers.

Compass Charter's loss came despite strong showings from Jayden Horn and Grayson Skimmyhorn. Horn posted ten points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists, while Skimmyhorn went 6-for-12 en route to 13 points and three steals. Horn has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Payton Hymas was another key player, putting up eight points.

Cody Luce continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Victory Charter, earning 22 points along with seven boards and six assists. The dominant performance also gave Luce a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (60%). Another player making a difference was Jett Wood, who had eight points and eight rebounds.

Compass Charter's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Victory Charter, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-8.

Compass Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Victory Charter has already played their next contest (against Camas County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
