Basketball Recap: Canistota's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Canistota waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They managed a 36-30 win over the Alcester-Hudson Cubs. That's more bragging rights for the Hawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Canistota's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Alcester-Hudson, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Canistota and Alcester-Hudson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps South Dakota Rankings. Canistota (ranked 109th) will meet Parkston (ranked seventh) at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Alcester-Hudson will face off against Chester at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday down 88 places (136 vs. 48).
