Basketball Recap: Blue Valley's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Blue Valley's and Frankfort's contest on Saturday was close at halftime, but Blue Valley turned on the heat in the second half with 35 points. The Blue Valley Rams put the hurt on the Frankfort Wildcats with a sharp 54-30 win. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Blue Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryleigh Brockman, who posted ten points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. Brockman is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bralynn Brockman, who had nine points and five boards.

Blue Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive games.

Blue Valley's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-3. As for Frankfort, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blue Valley will take on Hanover at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Hanover will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Blue Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Frankfort, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Washington County on January 31st. Washington County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
