Dawson had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-0 win over the Hubbard Jaguars. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won eight in a row.

Brant Boatright was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 180 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 passes, and also rushed for 48 yards. Those 180 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Dawson's leading receiver Kane Funderburk was Boatright's top target yet again, picking up 112 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Another reason for the win was Dawson's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Charlie Covington was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

Coming up, Dawson will welcome Leon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hubbard, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against McDade at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
