While Coalfield's victory against Northview Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Yellow Jackets had just enough and edged out the Cougars 8-7 on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Jorden Steinhauer and Jackson Treece did most of the damage at the plate: Steinhauer went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Treece went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Blake Hester, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Coalfield's record now sits at 22-6. As for Northview Academy, they moved to 16-8 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coalfield will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
