Basketball Recap: Evergreen Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Maddie Wivell and Adriana Jenkins

Evergreen Christian lost against Calvary Temple back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Evergreen Christian Eagles received a blow as they fell 57-38 to Calvary Temple. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Evergreen Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Adriana Jenkins and Maddie Wivell. Jenkins posted eight points and three steals, while Wivell put up eight points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Jenkins has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Malia Morris, who had six points.

Evergreen Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Calvary Temple, they moved to 3-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

When Evergreen Christian and Calvary Temple next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Evergreen Christian will face off against Riverdale Baptist and their three-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Calvary Temple will try to stop Seton's six-game winning streak when the meet at 5:15 p.m. on February 10th.
