Baseball Recap: Benton Central Comes Up Short

West Lafayette hit Benton Central with a six-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bison lost 7-1 to the Red Devils. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 25, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Benton Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaydric Tyson, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Benton Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for West Lafayette, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benton Central will host South Newton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rebels have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.3 runs per game on average), something the Bison will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for West Lafayette, they will be playing at home against Frontier at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
