Basketball Recap: KIPP Delta Comes Up Short

KIPP Delta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 71-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Newport Greyhounds. While losing is never fun, KIPP Delta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while Newport is ranked 100th).

KIPP Delta's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Newport, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. KIPP Delta and Carlisle will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Newport's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
