Recap: Soquel Knights vs. Skyline Titans
This season hasn't been kind to the Soquel Knights, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They took a 64-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Skyline. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Soquel still got an impressive performance from Peyton Bortz, who scored 18 points. The match was Bortz's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nico Ramirez , who scored 17 points.
Soquel's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Skyline, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Soquel will head out on the road to face off against St. Francis at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully St. Francis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Thursday. As for Skyline, they will square off against Oakwood at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Oakwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1059th, while Skyline is ranked 525th).
