Volleyball Recap: Portland Takes a Loss

Portland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Westmoreland Eagles. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Portland ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21, 25-22.

Portland's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Westmoreland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Portland will face off against Beech at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westmoreland, they will take on Macon County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
