Volleyball Game Preview: Thunderbird Titans vs. Poston Butte Broncos

The Thunderbird Titans will head out on the road to challenge the Poston Butte Broncos at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Poston Butte took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Thunderbird, who comes in off a win.

Thunderbird barely beat Greenway the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Titans put the hurt on the Demons with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.

While Thunderbird won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-18, 25-20.

Thunderbird can attribute much of their success to Ethan Schlesinger, who had 15 digs, and Matthew Hernandez, who had 11 assists and eight digs. Those eight digs gave Hernandez a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Poston Butte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to ALA - Queen Creek.

Poston Butte's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Thunderbird, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
