Basketball Recap: Wilcox County Comes Up Short

Wilcox County lost against Fitzgerald last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wilcox County Patriots were beaten by the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane 63-24. The matchup marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Wilcox County and nudges their season record down to 1-6. As for Fitzgerald, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Wilcox County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Montgomery County at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Fitzgerald and Cook will round out the year against one another at at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
