Basketball Recap: Chico Takes a Loss

Chico was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Era Hornets, falling 69-42. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dragons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-59 on January 3rd.

When it comes to explaining why Chico lost, don't look at Jordan Weiland. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Weiland is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Taylor Weiland was another key player, putting up five points along with five boards and three steals.

Chico's loss dropped their record down to 11-18. As for Era, they moved to 8-14 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chico will take on Muenster at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Chico is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season. As for Era, they will face off against Slidell at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Slidell will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Era surely won't give up without a fight.
