Volleyball Recap: Juarez Eagles vs. Hyde Park Thunderbirds
It was a Battle of the Birds when Juarez challenged Hyde Park on Thursday. The Eagles came out on top against the Thunderbirds by a score of 2-0.
Juarez easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-16.
Juarez's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexander Contreras- Herrera, who had six aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesus Flores, who had four aces.
Juarez has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season. As for Hyde Park, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
