Basketball Game Preview: Cypress Falls Eagles vs. Stratford Spartans

The Cypress Falls Eagles will challenge the Stratford Spartans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Cypress Falls sitting on three straight wins and Stratford on ten.

Cypress Falls picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They walked away with a 64-57 victory over Westfield. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Mustangs are ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Stratford didn't have too much trouble with Galena Park on Saturday as they won 51-32.

Cypress Falls has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.4 points per game. As for Stratford, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-7.

Cypress Falls was able to grind out a solid victory over Stratford when the teams last played back in November of 2023, winning 58-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cypress Falls since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
